What comes first — deciding what to trust, or recording how everything was made?
Recording comes first. A vocabulary for everything that can be recorded deterministically; then one for everything implicit; consistent confidence levels; and a version on every record naming exactly what made it — which script or model, exactly what went in, exactly what came out. Only then is trust decided.

Why
Trust that rests on an unrecorded process cannot be checked, and cannot be revised when the process changes. A record that says exactly what made it can be rerun — and rerunning is the test.
